Due to the retirement of Meg Williamson after 27 years, the Clemson University Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic is seeking to rehire that position. The Clinic is a part of the University and it operates similarly to other university-run labs, accepting samples from Extension offices and directly from in-state and out-of-state clients. However, it is housed in the Department of Plant Industry in the Division of Regulatory Services. As such, we also work closely with the Regulatory Field Inspectors to identify diseases, insects and weeds of concern. A well equipped PCR lab is on premises and this enables us to identify P. ramorum and the Citrus Greening pathogens. An Entomologist is on staff and weed identifications are not required of this position.
